Stela in the Temple of the Warriors

Stela in the Temple of the Warriors

Location
:  Chichen Itza (chee-chen eet-zah), Yucatan

Description:  The Book of Mormon states in II Nephi 4:21 – “And I did teach my people that they should build buildings, and that they should work in all manner of wood, and of iron, and of copper, and of brass, and of steel, and of gold, and of silver, and of precious ores, which were in great abundance.”  Many archeologists do not believe that iron was used in ancient America during Book of Mormon times, but in contrast to this belief, there are many examples of “intricately carved stela” in ancient America that “many believe could not have been completed with stone implements alone.” [19]
