Location
:  Palenque (pah-lehn-kay) in Chiapas, Mexico

Description:  From Fair Gods and Stone Faces – “The sign of the cross was found not only at Olmec La Venta but also Toltec Teotihuancan, at Mayan Palenque, and elsewhere.  It is the symbol of Quetzalcoatl …  The Mexican word for cross is tonacaquahuitl, meaning ‘tree of life’….” [13]  On the tablet, the quetzal bird perches on the top of the cross.  Quetzalcoatl is the feathered serpent, or white bearded God that visited ancient Central America (Jesus Christ).
